Kjell Erik Killi Olsen’s exhibition

We are very pleased and honored to present, for the first time in France, the work of Kjell Erik Killi Olsen.
This exhibition is the result of two years of intense work, Kjell Erik Killi Olsen produced more than 35 paintings. He combined two and three dimensional expression, when the paintings could easily have sculptures mounted on their surfaces, while freestanding sculptures could get a painterly treatment. In an intense palette, each painting have been scrupulously elaborated by superposed little touches, producing highly reliefs.
Considered as one of the most important painters in Norway, Kjell Erik Killi Olsen had his breakthrough in New York during the 80’s with a serie of paintings that were produced for a number of exhibitions. The artistic climat at this period is characterized by the emergence of ”New Expressionism”.
In 1989 he represented Norway to the São Paulo Biennale, in 1995 he participated to the International Festival of Bergen.
Works by Kjell Erik Killi Olsen figure in numerous private and public collections such as the Museum of Art, Architecture and Design of Oslo, the Bergen Art Museum, the Museum of Art of Lillehammer, the Rogaland Art Museum, the Götegorg Art Museum, the Trondheim Art Museum and the Pinacoteca Museum of São Paulo…
A fondation illustrating the various phases of his artistic development will be soon esthablished in the town of Trondheim, where he was born. Kjell Erik Killi Olsen lives and works in South of France and in his native land.

Nous sommes très honorés et heureux d’organiser la première exposition personnelle du peintre Kjell Erik Killi Olsen en France.
Cette exposition est le fruit de deux ans de travail assidu, trente-cinq nouvelles œuvres en sont nées.
Kjell Erik Killi Olsen s’est exprimé en deux et trois dimensions, traitant de manière picturale les reliefs se détachant de la toile. Dans une palette intense, chaque œuvre a scrupuleusement été élaborée par de petites touches superposées produisant ainsi un profond relief.
Considéré comme l’un des plus importants peintres de Norvège, c’est à New York, lors de nombreuses expositions personnelles dans les années 80, qu’il marque sa reconnaissance. Le climat artistique de l’époque est alors caractérisé par l’émergence du “New Expressionism“.
En 1989 il représente la Norvège à la Biennale de São Paulo, en 1995 il participe au Festival International de Bergen.
Les œuvres de Kjell Erik Killi Olsen figurent dans de nombreuses collections publiques et privées dont le Musée d’Art d’Architecture et Design d’Oslo, le Bergen Art Museum, le Musée d’Art de Lillehammer, le Rogaland Art Museum, le Götegorg Art Museum, le Trondheim Art Museum, la Pinacothèque de São Paulo…
Une fondation illustrant les différentes étapes de son œuvre lui sera prochainement dédiée dans la ville de Trondheim où il est né. Kjell Erik Killi Olsen se partage entre le sud de la France et son pays natal.
