Chaque expérience ancrée dans notre mémoire – consciemment et inconsciemment – nous conduit à nous confronter à nos limites quelque soit la volonté, insuffisante au dépassement tant recherché par l’artiste.
C’est dans ce mouvement rêvé vers l’Ithaque que je vois le secret de la création : tenter d’exprimer ce que je souhaite de manière toujours plus précise. Après quarante ans passés les mains dans la terre, après tant d’œuvres tournées et tant de techniques différentes expérimentées, je réalise aujourd’hui combien ces dernières années ont été pour moi. Des années de récapitulation, de synthèse quant aux expériences accumulées au fil du temps avec pour objectif la quête de l’essentiel.
Comme toujours, cela signifie, partir d’une forte tournée, un cylindre.
Finir une œuvre et commencer la suivante.
Et toujours faire naître la nouveauté, inlassablement.

Our memory preserves every single experience and processes it in a conscious and an unconscious way to produce what one can. Not what one wants but only what one can. In this impulse towards the Ithaca one would like to reach lies for me the secret of creativity: trying endlessly to express in a clearer way what I want to express.

After forty years of working with clay, after so many pieces thrown and treated in the so many different ways I have discovered along the years, I realise now how this last years have been a time of recapitulation, a time to concentrate all that I have developed, trying to get to the most essential. And this means, as usual, starting with a thrown form, a cylinder again. Finishing a piece and beginning with the next. And always finding something new, endlessly.
